Duct tape and bailin' twine starting to loosen...

The O's took another tough loss tonight. As of late, there's been no reliable starter, the middle relief has suffered some injuries and the closer has blown a couple (but still managed the lone Orioles all-star nod). The offense has actually been half decent but not enough to make up ground. Let's hope we can somehow stay at/near .500 to help our chances of luring, say, Mark Teixeira in the off-season. On the bright side, Adam Jones continues to get better and Nick Markakis is really good. They're 22 and 24 respectively.

I have to admit I thought the AL would lose when it had to count on George Sherrill (sp?) to pitch 2+ innings. But he pulled through in the clutch. The BoSox owe him a debt of gratitude for its home field advantage come October.

Fantastic -- Georgie's been running on fumes for the past two weeks and then has to lay it on the line for the AL when any day now he could be traded to the NL for all we know. But for a guy who played in the independent league for 5 years before getting signed, he probably would've thrown 100 pitches if asked.
