Enigmatic Bears season

That NFC Championship game was a fitting end to a strange season. The Bears came in to the season picked by most to finish third (out of 4) in the NFC Central. At 6-3 they were ranked 17th (out of 32) in the espn power rankings. They went 5-2 down the stretch, won the Central, got the second seed and still didn't inspire fear in anyone, including the truly mediocre Seahawks. And then, after 2 impressive Packer drives, they stymied Aaron Rodgers and almost forced OT in the championship game with their 3rd string QB at the helm. A loss that seemed inevitable with 5 mins to go in the first qtr ended up pulse-pounding by the end.

Anyway: Steelers 27, GB 24 in OT.

I hope you're not trying to somehow curse the Steelers by predicting their win.

I definitely believe in jinxing but I think you can only really effect (correct usage) a jinx if you are bragging about your team. So is the SI cover jinx really a jinx by my definition? Well, yes, b/c it is a for profit magazine after all, and putting someone on the cover is their way of boasting.

The packers irritate me b/c they came into Chicago all confident with their newly-crowned 'best of the NFC' QB. Then, Rodgers crapped the bed but less so than the Cutler/Collins/Hanie three headed nightmare and the pack stole a win. The pundits are spinning this as their march through the playoffs and they are 2.5 pt favorites. I don't think so.
