The Great Greek Hope

How do you turn a franchise around? Young, home-grown talent with good work ethic and leadership skills. Nick Markakis ladies and gentlemen:

Plus, the ladies swoon so that makes the marketing dept happy. Anyway, he hit another clutch HR last night, propelling the O's to a nice come-from-behind road win over the Mariners who much preferred the 2007 O's (O's were 2-7 vs. Mariners last year; so far 5-1 in 2008).

If Adam Jones stops swinging at pitches at his eyeballs and Luke Scott is for real, the outfield of the future could be this season.

The all-Greek team; ready, set, go....I'll get it started, with some help from Wikipedia:

1B Kevin Youkilis
2B Aaron Miles
OF Nick Markakis
OF Dusty Rhodes
C George Kotteras
P Clay Bellinger

Anyone else? (Not a bad team so far)

On another front -- not to toot my own horn, and I know it's still early, but my prediction last year that DPed would be this season's 2B starter for the AL all-star team looks like it's got a chance of materializing...

Eric Karros could DH or maybe play first if we move Youk over. I'm sure Pete Sampras could pitch if there's no other option. Angelos is the owner of course so he'll bring in the rest of the Greeks.

Wikipedia tells me Aaron Miles' Greekness is from paternal grandmother so he might need to be dq'd.

Yes, D-ped with the inside track esp w/ Roberts slumping and Cano REALLY slumping.
