Looking back, the Phils were close to dominant in the post-season. How did it happen -- How about defense, especially in the World Series? The Phils turned six double plays in the WS and they all seemed to come at crucial times. How about Utley's tag of the runner going to second, then on to first double play in game 5 part I and then the far-ranging stop up the middle, fake throw, gun down runner trying to score in game 5 part II?
But when it's all said and done, it was the back of the rotation that sealed the WS. Jamie Moyer and Joe Blanton were supposed to be the Phils' competitive disadvantage vs. the Rays and they came up HUGE. Besides Moyer shutting down the Rays, that full horizontal dive, glove-scoop toss to beat Carl Crawford to the bag was the best D in a WS game I can remember. Crawford was called safe, but with the Series going to the Phils, it doesn't really matter.

I can't believe you were up at 6:27 AM this morning and coherent enough to write this thorough analysis.

He didn't get up until after 7.

I think there is a 3 hour delay in the time - west coast time.

Ah, that makes sense. I guess I didn't realize the time stamp on my comment, otherwise I could have figured that out. Hey, I'm commenting on your blog! Look at me. Technologically challenged no more! Well, not really.
